16 October 2026, Samarkand. In celebration of Samarkand City Day and as part of the nationwide environmental initiative “Yashil Makon,” employees of AIR MARAKANDA LLC, together with representatives of the Main Department of Ecology and Climate Change of Samarkand Region, held a tree-planting campaign at Samarkand International Airport.

The event was attended by Jonibek Yuldashevich Turaev, Deputy Head of the Main Department of Ecology and Climate Change of Samarkand Region; Sukhrob Akbarjonovich Akhmedjanov, Head of the “Yashil Makon” Branch and the management of AIR MARAKANDA.

As part of the environmental initiative, trees were planted in the area in front of the passenger terminal. The new trees will become part of the airport’s green landscape and contribute to improving the urban environment.

The campaign reflects the company’s commitment to supporting environmental initiatives and making a practical contribution to environmental protection. Cooperation with the relevant regional authority highlights the importance of joint efforts between businesses and government institutions in implementing environmental projects.

Samarkand International Airport is an important part of the city’s infrastructure and serves as a gateway to the region for arriving visitors. Greening the airport grounds is aimed at creating a more comfortable environment for passengers, employees, and local residents.

The environmental campaign became a symbolic gift to Samarkand on City Day and formed part of broader efforts to create a greener and more sustainable urban environment.

“Aircraft connect cities, while trees connect generations. By planting trees today, we are working together to create a greener future for Samarkand and help preserve our natural heritage for generations to come,” said the Chief Environmental Officer of AIR MARAKANDA.
