28 August 2026, Samarkand. As part of the cooperation between Air Marakanda, the ground handling operator of Samarkand International Airport, and Nordwind Airlines, passengers now have access to regular direct flights on the Samarkand — Kazan — Samarkand route.
On 27 August, Samarkand International Airport held a ceremonial welcome for the new carrier’s inaugural flight. The aircraft arriving from the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan was greeted with a symbolic water salute, following an aviation tradition.
Direct flights will operate once a week, on Thursdays.
Departure time from Samarkand: 05:55.
Arrival time in Kazan: 07:20.

The launch of direct air service between the two cities creates additional opportunities for residents of Uzbekistan and Tatarstan. The new route will make business and leisure travel more convenient and will also contribute to the development of cultural and economic ties between the two regions.

It is also worth noting that Nordwind Airlines flights from Samarkand to Moscow and St. Petersburg, with a connection in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, will also be available.
