Samarkand International Airport has started operating under the spring-summer flight schedule (SSFS). During the fall-winter period (FWP) Air Marakanda served more than 578 thousand passengers, which is 18% more compared to the same period last year.
Since the beginning of the current year, the airport has served more than 339 thousand passengers, showing growth of 16% compared to the same period in 2024. Over 2.6 thousand flights were operated during this period, and the most popular destinations were Moscow, Istanbul, St. Petersburg, Jeddah and Abu Dhabi.
As part of the spring-summer schedule, partner airlines continue to open new flights and increase the frequency of flights on the most popular routes.
From April 1, Ural Airlines opens flights from Samarkand to Krasnoyarsk with a frequency of once a week, on Tuesdays. From April 2, AZAL resumes flights to Baku, which will be operated twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays. From April 7, China Southern Airlines, China's largest air carrier, will resume flights from Samarkand to Urumqi, with a frequency of once a week - on Mondays. Also from May 1, Kazakhstan's QAZAQ AIR resumes flights on the route Turkestan - Samarkand - Turkestan, with a frequency of twice a week - on Thursdays and Sundays.
The airport's base carrier, Air Samarkand, is launching a new international destination - Tel Aviv - as part of its spring-summer schedule from May 4. Flights will be operated on Sundays. In addition, the airline plans to increase the frequency of flights to Sharm el Sheikh. The launch of a number of new routes, including Tbilisi, Batumi, Baku and other popular destinations, is under consideration.
In addition to expanding its route network and increasing the number of flights, Air Marakanda continues to improve the passenger experience at the airport.
From April 1, 2025, travelers departing from Samarkand International Airport will be able to use the CIP lounge through Priority Pass, LoungeKey and Every Lounge services. Earlier, the airport's CIP lounge joined ONPASS international loyalty programs from MILE-ON-AIR and DragonPass platform.
