October 31, 2023, Samarkand. Air Marakanda company, which manages the new terminal at Samarkand International Airport, has launched an automated parking lot for passengers.
Since October 31, a fully automated passenger parking system has begun operating in test mode at the airport. While the system is operating in test mode, all technical aspects and payment methods will be finalized. The parking lot has 382 parking spaces, including spaces for people with limited mobility.
The system recognizes automatically car license plates on entry. If the number is not identified at the entrance to the parking area and the barrier does not open, then it is necessary to obtain a parking ticket from a parking meter.
Payment is made in cash through parking meters located in four locations, or by bank card when leaving the lot. In the future, it is planned to introduce the possibility of payment through mobile applications. The payment amount is displayed on the board. The first 15 minutesare free of charge. Users will be charged after that.
For the use of the airport parking, the following tariffs apply for any passenger transport:
1 hour (full and partial 60 minutes) – 10 000 soum.
1 day and night (full and incomplete 24 hours) – 50 000 soum.
For bus parking, the following rates apply:
1 hour (full and partial 60 minutes) – 15 000 soum.
1 day and night (full and incomplete 24 hours) – 80 000 soum.
The hourly tariff is converted into a time-of-day tariff when the car or bus is in the airport parking lot after midnight.
Parking areas for cars and buses are marked on road signs.
Please note: parking directly in front of the airport terminal is prohibited. Pickup and dropoff rights are restricted to no more than 15 minutes.
Staying in front of the terminal building for more than 15 minutes will incur a fine in accordance with the current traffic rules of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate (traffic police). Additionally when leaving the airport area, a penalty will be charged for violation of the parking limit in the amount of 50,000 UZS/hour.
The parking area is not a protected area. The administration of Air Marakanda LLC is not responsible for the loss, theft, damage or violation of the completeness of vehicles, for the loss, theft of any other property located in the parking lots, including those left in the vehicle. The administration of Air Marakanda has the right to refuse entry to systematic violators of the rules for the use of parking in front of the terminal building.
It should be noted that in the near future, cameras will be installed to record traffic violations.
