July 28, 2025, Samarkand. «AIR MARAKANDA», the operator of Samarkand International Airport, has summarized its operating results for the first half of 2025. The figures confirm the positive development of one of the largest aviation hubs in the region.

From January to June 2025, Samarkand International Airport handled 5,577 flights, which is 4.9% more than in the same period last year. Passenger traffic for the period increased by 9.4% to 708,000 people.

Since the beginning of this year, the airport’s route network has been expanded with new destinations: flights to Krasnoyarsk, Vladivostok, Dushanbe, and Khabarovsk have been launched, and flights to Baku, Turkestan, and Urgench have been resumed.

The bulk of air traffic is accounted for by international destinations, reflecting the high interest in Samarkand as a tourist and transit center. In the first six months of 2025, the airport served 678,076 passengers on international flights and 29,695 passengers on domestic flights.

«AIR MARAKANDA» continues to implement its strategy to improve the passenger experience. One of the key steps was joining the global loyalty programs Priority Pass and Lounge Key. Now, holders of these loyalty cards, as well as all passengers who wish to do so for an additional fee, can use the airport’s CIP lounge and spend their time waiting for their flight in comfort.

New retail outlets have opened in the sterile area of international departures: the Datum Perfume boutique and a Duty Free shop offering a range of alcoholic beverages from Uzbek producers. For the convenience of passengers and visitors, a chain of stylish Yess Coffee cafes has appeared in the general terminal area, and Rich Boy barbershop has begun operating, becoming the first men’s barbershop in the passenger terminal among Uzbekistan’s airports.

Currently, Samarkand International Airport serves flights to 23 destinations, providing a wide range of flights and maintaining its role as a significant transport hub with sustainable opportunities for expanding air traffic.
