July 20, 2025, Samarkand. As part of the partnership between «AIR MARAKANDA» and «Centrum Air», a new direct flight route between Samarkand and Dushanbe, the capital of the Republic of Tajikistan, has been launched. This route, which has been resumed for the first time in the modern history of Uzbekistan, is a strategically important step towards strengthening transport, cultural, and economic ties between the republics of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
Registration for the first flight to Dushanbe opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Samarkand International Airport terminal. All passengers on the flight were treated to oriental sweets — Turkish delight.
The official ceremony to welcome the first flight from Dushanbe was attended by invited guests of honor: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Uzbekistan Abdujabbar Aziz Rakhmon-zoda, Deputy Governor of Samarkand Region for Tourism, Sports, Culture, Cultural Heritage and Mass Communications Kobilov R. R., Chairman of the Tajik Cultural Center Samadov Sh.
At the airport, flight C6246 was traditionally greeted with a water arch. The arriving passengers were greeted to the sounds of the karna and surna, with performances of national dances and Samarkand samsa. The highlight of the meeting was the ceremonial cutting of a festive cake, symbolizing the beginning of a new chapter in the development of bilateral air transportation.
Flights to Dushanbe will operate twice a week: on Thursdays and Sundays. Departure time from Samarkand International Airport is 7:30 a.m.
In addition, «Centrum Air» plans to launch direct flights from Samarkand to Sochi on July 23 and open a new international route from Samarkand to Khabarovsk on July 25. The expansion of the route network opens up new horizons for business and cultural exchanges and strengthens the status of Samarkand International Airport as an important transport hub in the region.
Tickets are available on the airline’s official website, centrum-air.com, and at the 24-hour ticket office at Samarkand International Airport.
