As part of the cooperation between Air Marakanda and the Uzbek air carrier Qanot Sharq, a direct flight from Samarkand to Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey, which is the main commercial, industrial and cultural center and the main port of the country, has been opened.

The solemn opening of the direct flight to Istanbul took place in the terminal of Samarkand International Airport. The opening ceremony was attended by the Consul General of Turkey in Samarkand Salih Caner, First Deputy Head of the General Department of Culture and Tourism of Samarkand region Dilshod Narzikulov, representatives of the management of Air Marakanda and Qanot Sharq. Traditionally, sweet treats were prepared for all passengers of the first flight.

Flights to Istanbul will be operated three times a week according to the following schedule: on Tuesdays departure from Samarkand at 7:00, and on Thursdays and Saturdays at 8:00; departure from Istanbul on Tuesdays at 12:40, on Thursdays and Saturdays at 11:40. All flights are in local time.

Flights will be operated on comfortable aircrafts A321. Ticket prices start from 208 USD one way. One can purchase air tickets and arrange additional services at 24-hour ticket office at Samarkand International Airport.

With the opening of additional flights of Qanot Sharq airline in this direction, passengers have the opportunity to fly daily from Samarkand to Istanbul and back.
