Samarkand International Airport continues to demonstrate impressive growth in passenger traffic and according to the results of the first half of 2024, which were published by the European organization ACI Europe, Samarkand air harbor ranked second in the category of medium-sized airports.
Passenger traffic in the first half of this year, compared to pre-pandemic 2019, increased by an impressive 191.6%. This growth is the second highest among the category of airports with annual passenger traffic between 1 and 10 million.
Samarkand's aviaport, starting from October 2022, has shown stable growth for the 22nd consecutive month. In July 2024, the volume of passenger traffic reached 117 thousand people, which is 51% more compared to July 2023.
A record 647,000 passengers passed through the airport in the first six months of 2024, a 47% increase on the same period in 2023.
This result emphasizes the steady growth and development of Samarkand International Airport, which is continuously improving, providing passengers with high quality service and comfort.
Air Marakanda, which operates the new terminal of Samarkand International Airport, currently cooperates with 21 airlines. Flights are operated to 18 destinations, of which 17 are international and 1 is domestic.
