12 December 2024, Samarkand. Within the framework of cooperation between Air Marakanda and AZAL air carrier, flights from Samarkand International Airport to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, are resumed.

Flights on the Baku-Samarkand-Baku route, which will be operated by Azerbaijan Airlines, will start from 1 April 2025.

The resumption of flights strengthens cultural and tourist ties between the two countries, opening up more opportunities for travel and business co-operation.

Baku, a modern metropolis on the Caspian Sea coast, offers tourists many attractions, including walks along the Seaside Boulevard, visits to the Old City and the Bibi-Eybat Mosque Complex.

In addition, Baku Heydar Aliyev International Airport is a modern transport hub and offers flights to 75 destinations, providing additional opportunities for travellers departing from Samarkand.

Flights will be operated twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays with departure from Samarkand at 2:55. The flight time is 2 hours and 20 minutes.
