Air Marakanda company has begun its partnership with national carrier Panorama Airways. As part of the partnership, for the first time, direct regular flight has been opened from Samarkand to the second holy city of Islam after Mecca — Medina, which is considered the cradle of Islamic civilization.
The opening ceremony of the flight to Medina was held in the terminal of Samarkand International Airport. It was attended by Dmitry Martynenko, Director of the Commercial Department of Air Marakanda, and Abdurakhmon Fatayev, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Panorama Airways. Traditionally, the aircraft was greeted with a water arch, and the first passengers were treated to branded cupcakes.
Flights from Samarkand to Medina will be operated once a week on Tuesdays with departure from Samarkand at 12:50.
