Today, Samarkand airport has exceeded passenger traffic for the first time since 2019. Air Marakanda, which operates Samarkand International Airport, served the 483,000th passenger for the first time in the airport’s history.

The record passenger of 2022 was a resident of Samarkand region, Gulnora Nasimova, who flew to Dubai on flydubai flight FZ769.

We are pleased to celebrate this important event for our entire team today: for the first time since 2019, the airport has managed to achieve a record passenger traffic, despite the negative performance at the beginning of this year compared to the pre-pandemic period. We are especially pleased today to congratulate a record-breaking passenger and end the year with positive dynamics. I am confident that next year we will be able to achieve even better production results.

Artem Pak congratulated the record passenger on behalf of the company and presented a set of New Year’s souvenirs and a certificate for service in new CIP lounge of the airport, where Gulnora Nasimova became the first visitor. flydubai also congratulated the airport’s record passenger and presented her with a certificate for a flight to Dubai.

We started flying to Samarkand from Dubai for the first time three months ago, and seeing great potential in the region, we quickly increased the frequency from 2 to 7 flights per week. We congratulate our partner, Air Marakanda, on the record passenger traffic of the airport, hope for further fruitful work for the benefit of the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UAE, and wish our partners new records and victories.

As part of the gala event dedicated to the record passenger, a quiz was also held for all passengers with memorable gifts from Air Marakanda.
