According to the results of the first three months of 2024, Samarkand Airport moved from the category of small airports to medium-sized airports and took the second place in terms of passenger traffic growth rate according to the European division of Airports Council International (ACI Europe).

The report published by the industry association ACI Europe confirms the impressive growth of passenger traffic at Samarkand International Airport. Benchmarking shows a 196.1% increase compared to the same period in 2019, bringing the airport into the 1 to 5 million passengers per year category for the first time.

This important development highlights the steady growth and development of Samarkand Air Harbor, which is rapidly expanding to provide high quality service and comfort for passengers. The transition to the new category and the second place in the rating confirm the airport's role as a key player in the air transportation market.

To remind, Samarkand International Airport in 2023 for the first time in its history exceeded the mark of 1 million and served 1,010,938 passengers, which is 104.9% or 517,521 passengers more than in the record year of 2022.

Today, Air Marakanda Company, which manages the new terminal of Samarkand International Airport, actively cooperates with 23 airlines and from Samarkand Airport there are flights to 18 destinations, 17 of which are international and 1 domestic.
