April 3, 2025, Samarkand. AZAL Airlines resumed flights from Samarkand to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, as part of its route network development.

Air Marakanda Company welcomed the first AZAL flight after resumption at the airfield of Samarkand International Airport, organizing a traditional water arch and providing flight service. On the occasion of the aircraft's arrival, a welcoming ceremony was organized for the crew with the participation of the company's representatives.

The resumption of air service between Samarkand and Baku contributes to strengthening cultural and tourist ties between the two countries, providing passengers with more opportunities for travel and business cooperation.

Baku Heydar Aliyev International Airport is one of the key aviation hubs in the region, offering flights to 75 destinations. Thanks to convenient connections in Baku, passengers departing from Samarkand can easily continue their journey to Paris, Milan, Berlin, Barcelona and Tbilisi, making the route even more attractive for tourists and business travelers.

Flights will be operated twice a week - on Wednesdays and Sundays, with departure from Samarkand at 2:55. Travel time is 2 hours and 20 minutes.
