Samarkand International Airport is the second largest airport in Uzbekistan outside the capital.

The coverage area of the airport is more than 12 million people, including 4 million residents of Samarkand region, 8 million residents of neighboring Bukhara, Navoi, Kashkadarya, Jizzak regions and the neighboring Republic of Tajikistan.

Today Samarkand is a dynamically developing region of Uzbekistan, aimed at the development of air transportation both in the country and in the Central Asian region.
